The U.S. 政府 forced all Afghan diplomatic missions in the U.S. to close in March 2022. Applicants must now obtain a visa from a mission in another country. Since 2024, the Taliban only accepts visas issued by approved diplomatic missions, though those who have already entered on a visa issued by another mission are allowed to stay. The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to visit Afghanistan due to civil unrest, crime, terrorism, risk of wrongful detention, kidnapping, and limited health facilities. U.S. 公民 in Afghanistan are urged to depart immediately via commercial means if possible.

One must leave for 90天 to reset the 免签 period.

Application for a tourist visa to 阿尔及利亚 must be 陪同 by a certificate of 住宿. Persons may be denied entry if entering with a 护照 containing visas or stamps issued by 以色列. Visitors on tours organized to some southern regions by an approved 旅行社 may obtain a 落地签证 for up to 30天.

The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to visit 白俄罗斯 due to the Belarusian authorities’ arbitrary enforcement of local laws, the risk of detention, the continued facilitation of 俄罗斯’s war against 乌克兰, the potential of civil unrest, and the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. 公民 residing in or traveling to 白俄罗斯. U.S. 公民 in 白俄罗斯 are advised to depart immediately.

The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of 200 USD per person, per night for almost all visitors to Bhutan. Additionally, if payment is made in 美国 dollars from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2027, the SDF is 100 USD. Tour guide 须 for all travelers except in city of Thimpu and Paro. Even in these cities, tourists are not permitted to enter any tourist attraction without a guide. They are only allowed to walk and shop around these cities without a guide.

On June 5, 2025, Chad has suspended visa issuances to U.S. 公民 in response to Donald Trump's travel ban, current visas will still be honored until their expiration. Dual-公民 of Chad can still travel to Chad but can only travel with a 有效 Chad 护照. Passengers with an entry authorisation issued by the authorities of Chad can obtain a 落地签证. International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis 须 only if arriving from a high risk country as defined by the WHO. Registration within 72小时 is 强制要求 prior to arrival.

U.S. 公民 arriving via cruise ports as part of 旅游团s are visa exempt for stays of up to 15天.

Tourist travel is prohibited under U.S. law for U.S. 公民, permanent residents, and others subject to U.S. jurisdiction. e-Visa holders must arrive via 32 designated airports or 5 designated seaports. An Indian e-Tourist Visa may only be obtained twice within 1 自然年. Foreigners of Pakistani origin or who hold a Pakistani Passport are not eligible for an e-Visa. Foreigners who are not Pakistani 公民/国民, but whose parents or grandparents (either paternal or maternal) were born in, or were permanent residents in 巴基斯坦, are also not eligible for an e-Visa. Authorities in 伊拉克 have decided to remove the visa-on-arrival requirement for 公民/国民 of the 欧盟 and several other countries, requiring them to now 申请 an e-Visa to enter 伊拉克 through the official platform. The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to visit 伊拉克 for any reason due to terrorism, kidnapping, 武装冲突, civil unrest, and the U.S. 政府’s limited ability to 提供 emergency services to U.S. 公民 in 伊拉克.

Beginning April 1st, 2025, 美国 公民 will have to obtain a visa for 纳米比亚. 美国 公民 will be issued with visas 落地 upon payment of a designated fee. Can be obtained online or 落地 for a fee of N$1,600 (approximately €82 / 美国$88).

Visas are issued with validity of 30天. Visa can be obtained in the Nauruan Press Office at the United Nations.

Obtainable at Tribhuvan International Airport and certain 陆路边境s. Total aggregate stay of no more than 150 days in any given 自然年. U.S. 公民 are eligible for five-year 多次入境签证s.

Holders of a pre-approved confirmation from the National Police may obtain a 落地签证 (flyer visa) up落地 at Niamey. The 护照 will be compounded for 1 working day and the traveler is 须 to appear at the Director General of Immigration the next working day to register and collect their 护照. International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis 须. The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to travel to Niger due to crime, unrest, terrorism, health, and kidnapping. Niger has suspended issuance of visas to U.S. 公民 and openly barred Americans from entering.

Business eVisas-on-arrival available for "Frequently Traveled Business Persons of International Reputes" or "Executives of Multi-公民/国民 Companies", as well as for 政府 officials International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis 须 if arriving from a country with a risk of 黄热病 transmission.

U.S. passports holders must obtain a special 护照 validation from the U.S. federal 政府 before travel. Such validations are only ever issued if travel is in the interests of 美国 公民/国民 security. 美国 公民 require a visa when traveling to 朝鲜; as there is no North Korean diplomatic mission in the 美国, 美国 公民 must obtain a visa from a diplomatic mission in a third country. U.S. secretary of state Rex Tillerson authorized a ban on American travel to 朝鲜 that went into effect in August 2017, following the death of Otto Warmbier, a 美国 student who was detained in 朝鲜 and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for allegedly stealing a propaganda poster. The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to visit 朝鲜 for any reason due to the continuing serious risk of arrest, long-term detention, and the threat of wrongful detention of U.S. 公民/国民.

Effective October 1, 2024, eligible 美国 公民 will be granted 90天 免签 travel to the State Of 卡塔尔 Visa issued up落地 for no cost. There is a QAR 76 entry fee, 有效期为 90天. Persons with unpaid fines are prohibited from departing 卡塔尔.

72-hour 免签过境 for international 邮轮/渡轮 passengers only if travelling with an 有组织的旅游团 and 陪同 at all times by a 旅行社. Registration 须 after 7 business days. 俄罗斯 signed the "Shared Values Visa" law on August 19, 2024, aimed at simplifying the 居留许可s for 公民 of countries that do not conform to 俄罗斯's traditional spirit and values. This means that one can obtain a three-month temporary residency without passing the exam. The focus of this law is to simplify the 居留许可 for foreign 公民 with traditional Russian spirit and values. As long as they comply with Russian values, foreign 公民 do not need to prove their knowledge of Russian language, Russian history, or Russian law (without examination), and can obtain a temporary 居留许可 for three months. By simplifying the process, more people can be attracted to settle in 俄罗斯, and these foreign 公民 must come from countries that oppose Russian values. This list applies to 47 regions, including 美国. American 公民 may receive 多次入境签证s 有效期为 three years. Residents of 阿拉斯加 who are members of the 原住民 population do not require a visa to visit 楚科奇 Autonomous Okrug if they have 亲属 (blood 亲属, members of the same 部落, native people who have similar language and cultural heritage) in 楚科奇. Individuals must be invited by a 亲属 in 楚科奇 and must leave 楚科奇 within 90天. Entry points are in 阿纳德尔, Provideniya, Lavrentiya and Uelen. The U.S. 政府 建议 its 公民 not to visit 俄罗斯 for any reason for the following reasons: Danger associated with the continuing war between 俄罗斯 and 乌克兰.
