Authorities in Iraq have decided to remove the visa-on-Ankunft requirement for nationals of the European Union and several other countries, requiring them to now apply for an e-Visum to enter Iraq through the official platform. The U.S. government advises its citizens not to visit Iraq for any reason due to terrorism, kidnapping, armed conflict, civil unrest, and the U.S. government’s limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Iraq.
