Authorities in Iraq have decided to remove the visa-on-arrival requirement for nationals of the European Union and several other countries, requiring them to now apply for an e-visa to enter Iraq through the official platform.

The Dutch government advises its citizens not to travel to Iraq due to the high threat of terrorist attacks in the country. The only exception is the Kurdish Autonomous Region, whereas the Dutch government advises its citizens to travel there only if necessary.
